A security guard at the Devaney Sports Center is accused of stealing clothing from an equipment room on Friday.

Brian Wagoner, 26, allegedly stole clothing including a baseball cap, tennis shoes and a pullover, said University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police Capt. Carl Oestmann.

The clothing, valued at approximately $436, was UNL property, Oestmann said.

Police recovered some of the clothing in Wagoner’s possession, Oestmann said.

Wagoner works for the Athletics Department and is not affiliated with UNL Police, Oestmann said.

He was cited on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking.
