Lincoln police arrest Iowa, Omaha bank robbery suspect
By the Lincoln Journal Star
A man wanted for bank robbery in Des Moines, Iowa, and Omaha was arrested in Lincoln early Saturday morning, said Lincoln Police Capt. Dennis Duckworth.
Duckworth said Officer Lance Maxwell spotted David Pederson's car outside the Oak Park Motel, 926 Oak St., at 2:11 a.m. Pederson called Maxwell, 49, inside the motel, and he allegedly jumped out a window and tried to flee, Duckworth said.
He was arrested and is being held in Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of attempted escape and two counts of bank robbery, Duckworth said.
He said Pederson allegedly robbed banks in Des Moines and Omaha during the past week after escaping from a jail in Ames, Iowa.
