A rural Eagle home was completely destroyed by a fire early Thursday morning.

Eagle-Alvo Rural Fire Department was called to the blaze at 1817 226th St. shortly before 5 a.m., said Chief Rick Weyers.

No one was hurt. The owner of the two-story house was in Kansas at the time of the fire, Weyers said.

The fire was out but still smoldering shortly before 8 a.m., Weyers said. The cause is still under investigation.

Greenwood and Waverly fire departments also responded.
