Man reports R2D2s stolen from his porch
There’s been a disturbance in the force — right here in Lincoln.
Police say four R2D2s were stolen from the back door of a man’s house near 56th and Van Dorn streets.
Officer Kacky Finnell said the 60-year-old had ordered the four 15-inch motorized replicas of the Star Wars droid from Hammacher Schlemmer catalog and expected them to be delivered Monday.
When they didn’t show up, he called UPS and discovered they’d been left at his back door but weren’t there any more. They were valued at $480.
Finnell said police didn’t have a suspect.
They might be wise to be on the lookout for Jawas. The short, burlap-caped scavengers with hoods and yellow eyes stole R2D2 in the movie.
