A 23-year-old Lincoln man was arrested Sunday night, accused of being the man behind a cache of stolen property found in a storage unit.

Daniel Snyder, 440 Nance Ave., was picked up just before midnight Sunday on four allegations of felony theft by receiving stolen property, fleeing to avoid arrest and a county warrant.

Officer Kacky Finnell said a warrant was issued for his arrest after a pursuit Oct. 5 on Sun Valley Boulevard at West O Street. She said he was in a stolen pickup.

Snyder allegedly was involved in another police pursuit Oct. 11 at 27th Street and Folkways Boulevard. Finnell said he was on a stolen motorcycle at the time, without a helmet.

Both times police ended the chase without arresting him.

Finnell said police found stolen property in Snyder’s storage unit at 201 S. Coddington Ave. that tied him to burglaries in the 600 block of West Burt Street, the 1100 block of West Keating Drive and the 3800 block of North Ninth Street.

She said the stolen items valued at more than $14,000, included tools, a DVD player, CDs, a leather jacket, motorcycle helmet, a 1999 block Harley Davidson Softail motorcycle and a Nano iPod.

Police described him as a career criminal and said they’d been looking for him for some time.
