Take in more than football Saturday
Don’t you hate these 11:30 a.m. kickoffs? When do you eat breakfast? Lunch at the stadium? Will I need reservations for dinner?
With so many unanswered questions — and I’m not addressing the Blackshirts here — it’s important to plan ahead for your big Ball State weekend.
Some good ideas:
Saturday morning, head out early for downtown and join tens of thousands of other Husker fans checking out the Farmers Market in the Historic Haymarket District. I hope there are enough kolaches to go around.
Or you can ride the shuttle from SouthPointe Pavilions, where the Lincoln Arts Festival will feature the work of more than 100 artists from across the country this weekend.
Tonight and Saturday, you can check out “King Lear” at the Swan Theatre at Wyuka Cemetery. It’s billed as Shakespeare’s most moving tragedy, kind of like the USC game for Husker fans.
Pay-per-view information
Fans wanting to purchase the pay-per-view coverage of Saturday’s NU football game against Ball State are encouraged to sign up early.
In Lincoln, digital subscribers of Time Warner Cable can order the game with their remote by tuning to channel 102 and following instructions.
Time Warner customers who do not subscribe to digital cable must call or stop by the office to order the game. A digital cable box is required.
Time Warner Cable’s Lincoln office will be open today from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
Cost to view the game is $29.95.
Satellite subscribers can order the game by tuning to channel 696 on DirecTV or 462 on Dish Network.
Information on how to order through other cable systems is available at www.Huskers.com.
