A Nebraska delegation this fall will be making another trade trip to Cuba.

Gov. Dave Heineman says he’s going to lead the agriculture-based group to the island nation in November.

This would be Heineman’s fourth trade trip to Cuba.

The governor also says he is thinking about trade trips to Canada, South America, Mexico and Europe.

Since 2005, Cuba has bought $60 million in Nebraska commodities, including dry edible beans, corn, wheat, turkey, pork, beef, soybeans and other soy products.

Last week, members of a trade delegation to Asia signed agreements with Taiwan worth at least 375 million dollars for Nebraska agricultural products over the next two years.

" What is Castro's Cuba paying us with??? If there are trade imbargo's imposed since the early '60's how is this legal?? Is the continued enslavement of Cuban people worth buying the votes of 70,000 farmers? I would hope that Nebraska's "Forth Estate" would ask these and more questions of "Chairman Dave" before anymore trips to Cuba! "

" And another important question, with all this extra revenue coming into the state, does that mean the "enslaved" taxpayers in this state will see "huge" taxbreaks then??? "

" Good going Gov Dave. Now your truckin". I'm proud of you. Finally someone has some energy. Thanks. "

" funny, isn't it how dave isn't going to have much to sell after he shuts off irrigation in this state...does that mean he will stop going on lavish vacations, err, "trade missions". "
