National Weather Service forecasters say today should be sunny and hot, with a high near 98.

With the heat index, it could feel more like 105 in the Lincoln area.

It could be breezy, too, with a south-southwest wind around 20 mph and gusts as high as 29.

The low should be around 69.

Tuesday, there’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m. They’re also likely Tuesday night. Some storms could produce heavy rain.

It should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 90 and low around 66.

Wednesday there’s a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high should be near 80 and the low around 61.

Thursday should be partly sunny, with a high near 84 and low around 61.

Friday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 and low around 63.
