Toney McCray signed a letter of intent with the Nebraska men’s basketball team late Tuesday night, according to Alan Branch, McCray’s recruiting advisor who works with a basketball scouting service in Houston.

McCray, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing player from Missouri City, Texas, faxed his paperwork to Nebraska coach Doc Sadler, Branch said.

McCray, who chose the Huskers over Georgia, becomes the second player to sign with Nebraska during the spring signing period, which began April 11. The other was Ade Dagunduro, also a wing player from Antelope Valley (Calif.) College.

Sadler is expected to announced McCray’s signing sometime today. McCray averaged 16 points and six rebounds his senior season at Elkins High School. He also received offers from Georgia, Florida Atlantic, Baylor, Washington State and Central Arkansas.

Nebraska has eight new players for the 2007-08 season, including six who signed in November.
