Add new convention center & hotel

If the city builds a new arena, it hopes to attract a private developer to build a nearby hotel and convention center for trade shows and exhibitions. The city would likely offer financial incentives, but the develop would foot the bill for the convention center and hotel. The city envisions at least 35,000 to 50,000 square feet of exhibition space and at least 20,000 square feet of banquet space.  Coverage coming Jan. 23.
