John David Booty, USC quarterback

When Southern California needed big plays, the junior quarterback rose to the occasion almost every time. He arguably was at his best on the Trojans’ game-clinching drive in the fourth quarter, twice hooking up with Dwayne Jarrett on key completions to keep the drive alive. Booty is poised and seems to be able to make all the throws.

Corey McKeon, NU linebacker

The Husker junior found himself in the middle of the action, recording nine tackles (four solo, five assisted). This all on the heels of a fire early Friday morning that caused $40,000 in damage to his apartment.

Dan Titchener, NU punter

Titchener helped NU set up camp in USC territory in the first quarter. His pass on a fake punt got off to a scary start, but he made a nice throw to Todd Peterson, and when that drive stalled, he pinned USC deep with a perfect pop-fly punt.

Dwayne Jarrett, USC wide receiver

We talked about this guy all week long, and sure enough, the 6-foot-5 wide receiver made his presence well known. Some in the media remarked that USC has better wide receivers than the NFL Kansas City Chiefs. After his 11-catch performance for 133 yards Saturday, he might be worthy.
