In conjunction with private developers seeking to expand downtown living options, the Downtown Lincoln Association is conducting an urban housing survey in order to gain a better understanding of the emerging downtown residential population.

The Web-based survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at www.downtownlincoln.org.  Once at the site, click on the “Downtown Housing Survey” link at the top of the home page in order to be directed to the survey.

The information gathered will be used to provide a more accurate understanding of current and potential downtown residents’ needs and desires. All personal information will be kept confidential.

For more information, call the Downtown Lincoln Association at 434-6900.

" Here we go again, another survey. How many million times have we surveyed the downtown. Probably got to make sure they assess every little stone, wouldn't want to loose any property tax dollars. Lived 32 years in a house in another state and they reassessed only 2 times and then they didn't look at the property. Now the city pays independent assessors to argue your over assessed property and even state they may have to look inside your house!!! The dam houses have been setting there for years and if they have to use a magnifying glass every reassessement time, somebody need to reassess the citys' brains!! It isn't even fun to own a home in Nebraska. No wonder the governor went to Cuba, I'm sure he brought back some good dictatorship ideas. When your house is idential to another and yours is assessed alot more than the other, then you send pictures and documentation and still they want to spend the taxpayers money to argue and probably lie themselves out of the truth on paper right in front of their noses. I am selling my house and moving back to the state I came from where they care about their citizens. However, the price people are trying to sell their houses for is way below the assessed market value. Guess who wins and who looses?? This is unbelievable in America. "

" As much as I love filling out surveys, they really don't do much good unless you use them. Stop surveying and assessing and try doing something. The DLA is a worthless entity. "
