A 20-year-old son said he was tired of his father and his friends using meth in the home, so he called the police Tuesday, Officer Katherine Finnell said.

Police responded to the home of Jon Ley, 2851 Park Place Drive, and after being allowed to search the home found a glass pipe and less than a gram of methamphetamine in a plastic bag in the bedroom, Finnell said.

Ley, 46, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Officer spots suspicious vehicle fire

A Lincoln police officer was traveling near the 200 block of South 26th Street on Monday night when he heard two loud explosions and found a vehicle ablaze, Capt. David Beggs said.

About 10:39 p.m., the officer found the Dodge Grand Caravan in front of 230 S. 26th St. engulfed in flames, Beggs said. The sound the officer heard was believed to be the tires exploding, he said.

Police are calling the fire suspicious. The fire destroyed the vehicle for an about $1,500 loss and damaged siding on the home for an estimated $1,000 loss, Beggs said.

Police seized 7.2 grams of meth, a metal knife and a digital scale.

Morales was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon. He was then put into custody of the U.S. Marshals in Omaha, sheriff’s reports showed.

Soft drink lodged in man

A 38-year-old Lincoln man showed up at BryanLGH Medical Center West on Monday, claiming he had been assaulted last week, police said Tuesday.

The man told hospital staff he was in the area of 28th and P streets Thursday when someone punched him in the head from behind and kicked him when he fell.

" WHAT!! You mean to tell me it took him 4 days to figure out something just wasn't right. I don't believe it. Makes you wonder if an assault really took place. "UNBELIEVABLE????" "

" It sounds like there is a dangerous pervert on the loose in the 28th&P area. This is probably a sexual assault and the viction was too ashamed to let anyone know that it had happened until it became obvious it was life threatening. The percentage of women who are raped and don't report it is estimated to be over 50%. The numbers of Men not reporting a rape are probably even higher. "
