ABC Sports broadcaster Brent Musburger was ticketed Saturday after police caught him with an open container of alcohol in a vehicle.

Musburger was a passenger in the car. He was in town to cover the Nebraska-Pittsburgh college football game.

At about 6:10 p.m., shortly after the end of the game, a Lincoln Police officer observed a passenger in a motor vehicle holding a beer in his hand, said Lincoln Police Capt. Allen Soukup.

The car was stopped on Ninth Street, between T to S streets, about one block from Memorial Stadium.

Musburger was cited for consuming alcohol in public and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Before joining ABC Sports, Musburger was a member of the CBS Sports announcer team, a lead announcer for the NCAA Final Four Basketball Tournament and host of the “NFL Today” pregame, half-time and post-game show.
