After bolting to a 17-0 homecoming day lead on Oklahoma State last week, Missouri's offense was brought to a halt and the Tigers were left with a stunning 20-17 loss. Mizzou finished with a season-low 264 yards, averaging just 3.6 yards on 74 plays.

"I'm concerned with the consistency of our offense," coach Gary Pinkel said. "I mean, obviously, I would be.

"When you look at it, you've got to coach better and play better. We analyze things and try to keep improving, but we certainly need to get better. Did we want to play? No question, we wanted to play. But we did not play well on either side of the ball. So you can look up at the stars and say ‘Oh gosh, what happened?' But we didn't play well, and that's my responsibility. We've got to keep working hard. It's a 60-minute game, you've got to play it  and you've got to keep working hard. It's the same thing I've been doing forever. I'm not going to change what I do."

TRYING TO TOP 2003: Every Missouri fan knows the Tigers ended a 24-game losing streak to NU last year. If the Tigers pull the trick again on Saturday, it would mark the first time they've beaten the Huskers in consecutive seasons since 1973-74. Since winning at NU in 1978, Mizzou has dropped the last 13 games in Memorial Stadium by an average of nearly 28 points and just three of those were single-digit margins.
