Trev Alberts, a former Nebraska All-America outside linebacker, is in his third season as a college football analyst for ESPN. The 34-year-old Iowa native provides analysis on the Huskers before each week's game.

"First of all, I'd like to give Nebraska credit for its win last week. Taking into account it was Baylor, Nebraska played to its strengths. I think the Huskers' offense was — for what they have personnel-wise — very, very nice. I think Joe Dailey can be a very good quarterback when they run the ball well and use play-action. I think Dennis Wagner has done an outstanding job with that offensive line, and I think the young running backs are playing well.

"The defense's play was a little disconcerting. You start to be concerned when the same things are happening week after week.

"I think this game (against Kansas State) is monumental for Nebraska. To me, this must be the game that shows the Huskers are to be reckoned with even with all the changes and the new staff.

"The bottom line is, the game probably hinges on the health of Dylan Meier. I think his passing has really improved. They found seams in the middle of the field against Oklahoma. I think if Dylan Meier's in the game, it becomes troublesome for Nebraska.

"If Dylan Meier doesn't play, the game's a tossup. If Dylan Meier plays and he's healthy, I think it's a 21-14 win for Kansas State.
