Weber loses battle with breast cancer
Corinne Weber died Wednesday evening.
The mother of three was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer on March 8, 2002, three days after her 40th birthday.
She was featured in "Corinne's Hope," a three-day series published earlier this week in the Lincoln Journal Star.
Weber's body had weakened in the past few months. Her breathing became labored Tuesday and she was taken to Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center.
Her family kept vigil there, and Weber died Wednesday at 9 p.m., with her husband, Bill, holding her in his arms and her brother, Kevin, holding her hand.
Hope sustained Corinne Weber, said longtime friend Genenne Didier.
And it sustained those who loved her.
"It was her course and we were her cheerleaders."
Services for the 1980 Lincoln Southeast graduate will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sheridan Lutheran Church, 6955 Old Cheney Road.
Memorials may be sent to: Ebenezer United Church of Christ, 801 B St., Lincoln 68502; Texas Christian University, P.O. Box 297044, Fort Worth, TX 76129; or MD Anderson Cancer Center Volunteer Services, Pink Ribbon Program, 1515 Holcomb, Unit 115, Houston, TX 77030.
