Two Recognized For Work With Dying Veterans Tabitha Health Care Services |

| Cindy Hansen, RN, of Grand Island and Aloha Schmid, RN, CHPN, of York, were recently recognized by the Nebraska Hospice-Veteran Partnership (HVP) for their work with veterans at the end of life. Awards were presented at the HVP's annual meeting at the Grand Island Veterans' Home on October 23.
Hansen received the Medal of Valor for making contributions to the improvement of end-of-life care for veterans in Nebraska. She is the Community Health Nurse with the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System-Grand Island Division. Schmid received the Medal of Honor for demonstrating commitment to the Hospice-Veteran Partnership. She is the Client Services Liaison with Tabitha Health Care Services/Hospice of Tabitha.
The Nebraska Hospice-Veteran Partnership is a collaboration of the Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Partnership, the state's hospice association; VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System; Nebraska State Veterans' Homes; and other organizations working to ensure Nebraska's veterans near the end of life receive the best care possible.
