Doug Wyatt has been named the 2009 Joe Neal Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award Winner as the top volunteer for the Cornhusker State Games.
Wyatt is the Surgery Center Manager at Lincoln Orthopaedic Center and has served on the Cornhusker State Games Medical Committee since 1999. Medical Committee Chair, Danielle Kleber, said Doug has been instrumental in helping with medical logistics, recruiting medical coverage volunteers and personally covering sites during the competition weekends.
"Doug is very dedicated to the State Games. We always count on him to be at Medical HQ first thing in the morning, and he's usually among the last to leave," Kleber said.
He also sat on the Nebraska Sports Council's N-Lighten Nebraska Advisory Committee and has served on the Games Opening Ceremonies Committee, at one point, donning Lincoln Lutheran's "Luther" mascot suit in the traditional Opening Ceremonies Mascot Race.
Please help Lincoln Orthopaedic Center in congratulating Doug Wyatt on his Volunteer of the Year Award from the Nebraska Sports Council. |
