Marcia White has joined the Nebraska Community Foundation as Director of Community Development Philanthropy.

White manages development and support functions for nealry 200 NCF-affiliated funds. She works with NCF regional directors of community fund development to provide services and programs that help affiliated funds be more effective at generating resources and investing those resources back into their communities in ways that make positive, sustainable impact. 

White has more than 20 years of experience working with community benefit organizations as both a staff person and volunteer. Her career includes work in rural development, grant making for education, community outreach and communications for nonprofit and government organizations in Nebraska. Immediately prior to joining NCF in September 2009, Marcia was a program administrator, academic adviser and instructor at UNL. Marcia has also taught various communication-related courses at Doane College-Lincoln and Webster University-Thailand.

From 2002 to 2004, Marcia served as a Peace Corps volunteer advising small businesses and community-based tourism development projects in northern Ghana, West Africa.

Marcia is a native of Bridgeport, Nebraska and a two-time graduate of UNL with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture and Master of Arts Degree in Adult and Continuing Education.
